Specific Techniques for Using North Wolf Wool Polishing Pad

1. Pad Priming & Wetting Technique
Always pre-wet the wool pad before use, squeeze out excess water until damp (not dripping).
Never dry polish—dry wool creates extreme friction, burns clear coat and causes micro-scratches.
Light spin the polisher at low speed to evenly distribute moisture across the whole pad face.
2. Compound Applying Technique
Apply 3–5 pea-sized dots of cutting compound evenly on the pad surface, do not over-apply.
Spread compound at low RPM first before increasing speed, to avoid splashing and uneven cutting.

3. Speed & Pressure Control Technique
Rotary Polisher: Medium speed 1200–1800 RPM, light to moderate constant pressure.
DA Polisher: Medium-high speed setting, keep light pressure only—too much pressure weakens cutting power and overheats paint.
Keep pressure consistent; do not press hard on edges, corners or plastic trims.

4. Movement & Pass Technique
Use cross-hatch overlapping passes (horizontal + vertical).
Overlap each pass by 1/3 to ensure no missed areas.
Always keep the pad moving continuously; never stay stationary over 2–3 seconds to prevent paint burning.
Follow car body lines, avoid grinding sharply on curved edges.

5. Edge & Corner Safety Technique
Fold the edge of the wool pad slightly or use partial pad contact on tight corners, mirrors and door frames.
Do not let the pad rim hit plastic, rubber trim or window seals to avoid damage.
6. Heat Management Technique
Wool pads generate more heat than foam pads.
If the paint surface feels warm/hot, stop immediately, mist with clean water to cool down, then continue.

7. Pad Maintenance During Use
If the pad gets clogged with compound residue, clean it with a pad brush instantly, do not keep using a matted wool pad.
